In 1792, he returned to Kendal armed with the knowledge of snuff making and 50 tons of used snuff making equipment. Some of this equipment dated back to the 1750’s and when one of the machines would break down, the broken part would have to be fabricated but Harrison made quite a lucrative business in Kendal. With his business partner Thomas Brockelbank, both he and Harrison made a successful snuff business producing a snuff named simply, Kendal Brown snuff. |
