The Hoggarth name came into play back in the 1860’s with Henry Hoggarth and a great tragedy . In 1864, Samuel’s beloved wife Jane died unexpectedly which caused Samuel great pain. Exactly 1 year and six days later, Samuel joined his beloved Jane in death and was buried beside her. This left the company to the trustees, Samuel Gawith the second, Henry Hoggarth and John Illingsworth. SInce the 1860’s, Samuel Gawith snuffs has been run by the House of Gawith and have been producing some of the most beloved and prized nasal snuffs in the world. Gawith Hoggarth produces the same snuff brands that they have been making since the 1790’s and all have the same brand, Kendal Brown. |
